Material for Reactors and Chokes
Chokes and reactors use the same material families as transformers but in smaller runs and more varied sizes, which is where mill minimums usually become the problem. There is no minimum order quantity here, so a development batch is quotable.
What this application demands
- Small quantities of a specific slit width without a mill minimum
- Silicon steel in narrow widths from 40 mm
- Enamelled rectangular wire in the exact conductor cross section the design calls for
- Consistent supply once the prototype moves into series production
Silicon steel sheet is used in cores for chokes and stabilisers as well as transformers, so the same grade selection logic applies.
