Core loss is the part of transformer efficiency you buy rather than design. This category covers oriented and non-oriented silicon steel sheet from 0.23 to 0.5 mm thick and 40 to 1290 mm wide, with insulation coating on both faces, supplied to GB/T2521.1, JIS C2552, ASTM A667, IEC60404-8-4 and equivalent grades.
Oriented grades give the lowest iron loss along the rolling direction and suit stacked and wound transformer cores. Non-oriented grades hold their properties in every direction and suit rotating and mixed-flux parts.
