Gear, lobe, screw, peristaltic and progressing cavity pumps for viscous, shear sensitive, dosing and sludge duties, including magnetic drive micro gear pumps.
A centrifugal pump moves liquid by accelerating it; a positive displacement pump moves a fixed volume per revolution regardless of pressure. That difference is why a centrifugal pump stalls on a viscous fluid and a positive displacement pump does not, and why the second is the answer for anything thicker than water.
Within the family the choice follows what the liquid cannot tolerate. Lobe and rubber-coated rotor pumps are gentle and suit shear sensitive product; screw pumps handle viscous and solid laden media; peristaltic tube pumps keep the liquid inside a tube so nothing touches the pump, which is what dosing and contamination-free transfer require.
