Reading a duty point
Flow and head define a point on a curve, and a pump that meets it on paper can still be the wrong pump.
Choosing a seal
The seal is the component that decides service life, and it is chosen by the liquid rather than by the pump.

State the connection and material

What should I include in an enquiry?
The medium being pumped and its temperature, the flow rate and head or the tank volume, the connection size and standard such as DN50 or 2 inch DIN, the material you need such as SS304, SS316L or cast iron, and the quantity and destination port. With those five we can recommend a model rather than send a catalogue.
Which fitting standards do you supply?
Stainless steel elbows, tees, end caps and reducers to ANSI, ASTM, DIN, JIS, BS, ISO, GB, SH and HG. Tell us the standard your pipework already uses rather than asking which we prefer, because mixing standards in a line is what makes a future replacement not fit.
What documents come with the order?
OQ, PQ, certificate of origin, material certificate and test report as standard. On project work the package extends to the general design specification, general arrangement drawing, P&I diagram with parts list, electrical and pneumatic diagrams, DQ and IQ protocols, factory acceptance test and calibration certificates for critical instruments. Ask for the list at enquiry stage, because what is in it affects the price.
Do you supply complete systems or only pumps?
Complete systems. Beyond supplying equipment we provide engineering design, installation, commissioning and after sales service for complete pumping systems including pumps, drivers, instrumentation and control, along with the tanks and the fittings between them. That is why we ask for the tank volume alongside the duty point.
