Die casting and non-ferrous foundry
Deburring, deflashing and whitening zinc and aluminium castings without cutting into the surface.
The requirement here is subtractive in a very limited sense: remove flash and parting lines, leave the cast surface intact. A medium that cuts too hard produces a part that is clean and visibly abraded, which fails on appearance rather than on function.
Alloy matching solves the other half. Zinc media on zinc castings and aluminium media on aluminium castings means nothing foreign is embedded, and the whitening effect that buyers ask for comes from the surface itself rather than from a deposit.
Typical Applications
- Zinc media on zinc, aluminium media on aluminium
- Low density to deburr without abrading
- Fine sizes for detailed castings
