Fixing aluminium screen panels in front of a curtain wall
A screen mounted in front of glazing cannot be fixed through the curtain wall skin without compromising its weathering and warranty. The load is taken back to the slab edge or to the curtain wall mullion at designed bracket positions agreed with the facade contractor. Wind load on the screen is transferred through those brackets, and thermal movement of a long screen run has to be released so it does not push against the glazing system.
