Fibre core engineering
Core selection sets tensile strength, flex life and the minimum achievable diameter, so it is engineered rather than defaulted.
The core is the part of a tinsel conductor that actually takes the load, and defaulting it to whatever is in stock wastes the main lever available for hitting a difficult specification.
Where a conductor has to be both very fine and mechanically strong, the core choice is usually the only remaining variable. We treat it as an engineering decision and state which core is in a quoted construction, so the customer can hold us to it on repeat orders.
