Long runs punish thin wall pipe. Pipe that deforms when it is clipped, or that sags between supports, turns a straight route into a wavy one and makes the cable pull harder than it should, which is where installers start blaming the conduit.
At plant scale the larger sizes carry the work: 32 and 40 mm conduit for distribution and 60x40 mm or 100x50 mm trunking where a route serves several circuits at once, with fittings from the same moulds so long runs join cleanly.
