Send a drawing and a quantity; get a price, a named process, a lead time and a free sample before volume.
The quotation names the process we would use and why, so the price can be judged against the method rather than accepted on trust. Where the drawing is missing something that would change the quote, we ask rather than assume.
A free sample is made to the drawing before any volume run. For a non-standard part with no catalogue number to check against, that sample is the only real verification that exists.
