Site plant does not stop for weather or for darkness, so the lamp runs for the whole shift with the machine's own heat underneath it. Thermal design, not peak output, is what determines whether it is still working at the end of the season.
Vibration is the other constant. A lamp bolted to a boom sees an entirely different load from one bolted to a cab roof, which is why mounting hardware is specified with the lamp rather than left to whatever the workshop has.
