Aluminium cut wire shot
Low density media for deburring and whitening aluminium and zinc castings without cutting into the surface.
Density does most of the work in blasting. A dense particle carries more energy at the same velocity, so it cuts deeper; a light one arrives with less, which is exactly what a soft casting needs when the requirement is to remove flash rather than to remove metal.
Aluminium media also removes the contamination question entirely. Blasting an aluminium casting with aluminium leaves aluminium behind, which is not a defect. That is why die casting and non-ferrous foundry work specifies it even where a steel medium would clean faster.
