Polished zinc plate
Uncoated polished zinc plate for workshops that apply their own photoresist, supplied flat and ready to coat.
Some workshops coat their own plates, either because they have a resist they trust or because their volume does not justify holding coated stock with a shelf life. For them the plate itself is the product, and what matters is flatness and surface finish.
A plate that is not flat prints unevenly and etches unevenly, because the exposure distance varies across the sheet. A polished surface matters for the same reason at a smaller scale: the resist sits on the surface it is given.
Uncoated plate also has no shelf life to manage, which is why it suits a buyer with irregular work or a long shipping route. The trade is the coating step, and the consistency that goes with it.
