LHD, RHD and emission standards when importing Chinese trucks
Drive side and emission level are registration questions, not preferences, and getting either wrong can leave a vehicle unregisterable on arrival.
Drive side is set by the destination country's road law and cannot be changed after the build in any practical way. It has to be stated at the specification stage, because it affects the cab, the mirrors, the lighting and in some conversions the position of the body controls.
Emission level is the other registration gate. Euro V and Euro VI chassis are both available, but which one a country will register depends on its own import rules and sometimes on the age of the vehicle at import. A Euro V truck that cannot be registered is not a cheaper truck; it is a stranded asset.
Both are confirmed in writing before production opens. Where we are unsure of a destination's current rule we say so and ask the buyer to confirm with their own customs broker, rather than guessing on their behalf.
