Splitting an auxiliary lighting order across lamp, harness and switch suppliers produces three lead times and one integration problem, and the integration problem lands on the installer on the day of fitting.
Specifying them together means the harness is sized to the lamps it feeds, the fuse is sized to the cable and the switch position is decided before the dash is apart. Kits ship complete with connectors and mounting hardware, which is what turns a four hour fit into a one hour fit.
