Fanfold paper folding machines
Machines that fold kraft rolls into fanfold stacks for void fill, so the material feeds a packing bench without a dispenser jam.
Fanfold exists because a roll is the wrong format at a packing bench. A roll has to be mounted, unwound and torn; a fanfold stack sits on the floor or under the bench and is simply pulled up by hand, which removes the dispenser and the jam that comes with it.
Fold length is the specification that matters and the one most often left to the machine. It has to suit the box sizes being packed, because a fold longer than the carton means tearing on every pack and a fold much shorter means several sheets where one would do.
The machine folds from a roll continuously, so the operating cost is the paper price and nothing else. That is the whole argument for making fanfold rather than buying it: the bought product is the same paper with a converter's margin and a delivery schedule attached.
