What to check before committing a market
Certificates, claims and continuity are the three things worth verifying before the first order rather than after it.
Certificates first. Ask for current copies of the quality and product certificates relevant to your market, and check the dates and the scope rather than the existence. A certificate covering a different product family is common and easy to miss.
Claims second, and this one is yours rather than the factory's. Whatever appears on your packaging is a claim you are making to your regulator and your customers, and you are the party who has to substantiate it in your market. That is true whether the claim originates with you or is repeated from supplier literature.
Continuity third. A hygiene listing is lost by being out of stock, not by being slightly more expensive, so the question to ask is not only whether the factory can make the product but whether it can keep making the same product for as long as the listing runs.
All three are cheap questions before the first order and expensive ones after. Ask them at the sample stage, when the answers cost nothing but a conversation.
