A new etching line, or a workshop moving from powdering to powderless, is a process decision rather than a shopping list. The plate, the additive, the developer and the machine have to suit each other, and a mismatch between any two of them shows up as a result the workshop cannot diagnose.
Supplying all four removes that. The additive is formulated for the plate, the machine is built around the additive, and when something does go wrong there is one supplier to ask rather than three who each point at the other two.
