Tailored compressor and control design
Where the duty point sits outside the standard chart, the compressor and its controls are designed to it.
Rounding a duty point up to the next catalogue machine wastes power and makes recovery at low suction pressure harder, so it is not a neutral simplification.
Where the requirement falls outside the standard range, the machine and its control philosophy are designed to the duty. For EPC work this usually also means agreeing the datasheet and the test documentation early, because the compressor will be accepted on paperwork as much as on performance.
